About BRICstudio

BRICstudio supports the development of new works in theater, dance, music and multi-media performance and provides subsidized rehearsal and performance space for non-venue based artists and arts organizations. Located in the heart of Brooklyn’s downtown cultural district, our 4,000 square foot black box theater accommodates up to 74 people in a comfortable cabaret setting, with flexible stage and seating arrangements.

BRICstudio Programs

BRIClab provides intensive, one-week residencies to local artists developing new work in theater, music, dance, spoken word, and multi-media performance. Grantees receive exclusive use of BRICstudio, production support, marketing, partnership opportunites, and a modest stipend. Artists are paired with Creative Advisors who provide mentoring and feedback during the development process. Residencies culminate in two work-in-progress presentations, followed by moderated artist/audience dialogues.

BRICstudio Co-Presents partners with New York City cultural institutions in order to bring a dynamic blend of workshops, premieres, international tours, and unique collaborations to our audiences in Fort Greene.

BRICstudio Rentals provides subsidized rehearsal, performance, and event rentals for non-venue based artists and non-profit organizations. We provide a full professional staff for each performance rental, including sound and lighting technicians, house manager, and more.
